Design, Draughting and Modeling

Our services include the production of Mechanical, Structural and Civil Layouts; Design and Detailing for land based and ship based steel structures. All layouts are done taking into account flowsheets, piping, electrical, mechanical equipment and maintenance aspects. PBAP uses 3D modeling to assist with detailing and clash detection. These models are used for the fabrication of structures, plate work and piping.

The design engineers work closely with the drawing office and other disciplines to obtain the best solution. All designs take into account the manufacture, transportation, erection, space constraints, ships motion and vibration limits. Civil design and analysis are done in accordance to SANS 10162 & SANS 10160 and ship designs have to comply with classification rules namely, Lloyds register, ABS, RINA and DNV. Civil and land based mining structures include conveyors, screening & crushing plants, sumps, chutes, bins etc. The structures include braced modules and plated deck houses. The programs used by the designers to perform Finite Element Analysis are: Strand 7 & Prokon. Various analyses can be performed on these structures, namely- static, vibration, non-linear and fatigue analysis. PBA can also perform precision diagnosis measurement of vibrations problems of structures. PBA investigates these non-conforming structures and provide you with practical and cost effective solutions with the use of the latest portable vibration analyser (VA-12) and Finite Element Models. This includes the on-site measurement of vibration levels of any mining or offshore structures.
